There's nothing tabloids love more than scrutinizing the bodies of female celebrities. And if they just had a baby, even better. Not only does this put a ton of pressure on public-eye mommies to hit the gym stat, but us common folk also feel the stress of keeping up with Beyoncé.

In a recent New York Times article, writer Janice Min discusses the way Hollywood has set the standard for picture-perfect mothers by praising stars for bouncing back to their supermodel selves within weeks of giving birth and shaking its head at real women like Jessica Simpson who need to work a little harder to lose the weight. Then there are the MILFs gracing our TV sets every night, like Sofia Vergara onModern Family and Heidi Klum on Project Runway.
