Once upon a time, a hungry fox climbed into a home in London and tried to carry a 4-week-old baby out of his crib. No, this is not a fairytale — we swear, it actually happened!
According to the Daily Mail, the mother of the baby heard a scream and a thud coming from the nursery, and ran in to check on what she thought would be her napping child. When she entered, a fox had her baby by the hand and was trying to drag the infant away.
Fortunately, the brave mommy was able to wrestle her child away from the fox, but not before the animal bit off the poor kid’s finger. Doctors have been able to reattach the finger, but the terror of a random animal attack at home might be harder to treat.
Apparently, this isn’t the first fox attack in the suburban South-East neighborhood of Bromley in London. The dangerous animals have been seen in the area scavenging for food, even entering people's homes. The mayor of London, Boris Johnson, told the Daily Mail, “This sort of attack, though terrible, is rare. But we must do more to tackle the growing problem of urban foxes.”
