The heavens have opened and the truth is finally out! Gwyneth Paltrow recently dissed herself over at Goop for her barely there Alexander McQueen gown from the 2002 Oscars.
If you don’t remember what went down, Gwyneth had the fashion police on red alert when she stepped out in the dress with her boobs hanging totally unsupported behind a very thin mesh material. Add in a heavy-looking black skirt, a smokey “black hole” eye, and a tight braid wrapped around her crest, and it’s the look that won her a position on every worst dressed list that year.
“There were a few issues,” the 40-year-old star of the upcoming Iron Man 3 recently told Goop. “I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to — a little bit of punk at the Oscars.”
We’re glad that she can look back and realize what went wrong, and thankfully most of her most recent looks have been spot on. Gwyneth says that since she’s started working with her current stylist Elizabeth Saltzman, she has left the red carpet decisions totally up to her, which have landed her in impeccable fashion hits like that fabulous stark white Tom Ford dress and cape at the 2012 Oscars. Let’s hear it for supportive bras!
