Looking at Gwyneth Paltrow’s life, you’d think that the girl has it all. The Oscar-winning actress has worked with the best in the business and has a great family life, complete with husband Chris Martin and her two kids, Apple, 8, and Moses, 6.
But things haven’t always been so perfect for the 40-year-old Iron Man 3 star, who admitted in You magazine that she nearly died after suffering a devastating miscarriage with her third child.
In the interview, Gwyneth said she is still “missing” the baby, and although she would love to have another child, she feels like she may have “missed the window” to do that. We still think Gwyneth has plenty of good years left to get pregnant, but understandably, the miscarriage has left her shaken.
“My children ask me to have a baby all the time. And you never know, I could squeeze one more in. I am missing my third. I’m thinking about it,” she said. “But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here or should we go back and try again.’”
Following in her close friend Beyonce’s footsteps, who herself revealed in January that she had suffered a miscarriage, Gwyneth chose to speak publicly about her struggle for the first time. So many women struggle with miscarriage, many of them silently, that it’s heartening to hear high-profile women like Gwyneth and Beyonce open up about it.
As it turns out, Beyonce — or rather, Blue Ivy — might be the one to get Gwyneth to try again.
“Their baby Blue Ivy is totally delish. She’s made me very broody,” she said. If anything can get you over that should-we-or-shouldn’t-we fence, it’s an adorable baby, especially one as cute as Jay-Z and Beyonce’s baby Blue.
