Halle Berry and her fiance Olivier Martinez clashed with photographers on Monday after they swarmed around the couple and Halle’s 5-year-old daughter, Nahla. The altercation happened as the family returned to LAX from a trip to Hawaii.
As seen in the below video, obtained by TMZ, the confrontation started after Halle expressed concern when the paparazzi crowded them as they exited from an escalator. In the video, Halle can be heard yelling to the photographers, "Get out of the way! It’s a child!,” and “It’s a child... you idiots!”
According to E! News, eyewitnesses say Olivier then proceeded to kick a photographer in the leg and wrist, although this is not visible in the TMZ video. As Olivier was leaving the airport, the eyewitnesses also say the paparazzo grabbed his arm and asked why he had kicked him.
After putting Nahla safely in a waiting SUV, Olivier can clearly be seen moving to go after the photographer, but Halle tells him “Olivier no!” and pushes him into the waiting SUV.
Airport police and an ambulance subsequently arrived at the scene, but authorities have yet to release a statement about the incident.
Whether Olivier kicked the photographer is a separate matter, but Halle is clearly upset in the video, and we can understand why. Having so many photographers crowded around and flashing cameras would upset any child. The celeb mom is reportedly taking action to prevent scenes like this. According to the New York Post, Halle has been trying to gather support from her fellow celebrity parents to help block photographers from taking unauthorized photos of celebrity kids.
