Besides being gorgeous and talented, Kate Hudson also happens to be very capable when it comes to balancing work and mothering her two young boys, Ryder and Bing. That could be because she has a very good teacher — her mom, actress Goldie Hawn.
In a new interview in Glamour’s March issue, Kate says Goldie told her there was only one thing in her life she refused to fail at: raising her children.
These days, Kate is following her mom’s advice by maintaining a successful career while raising her wonderful family. Mira Nair, director of Kate’s new movie, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, interviewed Kate for the magazine — and all we can say is, this girl really seems to have it all together (not that we’re a bit surprised!). She also looks absolutely amazing on the cover, going topless except for a bounty of necklaces and a strategically placed arm.
So how does she maintain that enviable figure? Kate tells Mira, “Dancing, Pilates, and running after Bing. He’s sprinting!” If only running after our kids made us look that good!
Kate also revealed that Bing is taking after her grandad, actor Kurt Russell. “...he’s got a natural mullet, which I’m cutting soon. It’s growing only in the back, so we in the family say he takes after my Gogie — you know, Kurt — because Kurt was a mullet guy in the eighties.”
While Kate does seemingly have it all, she says her ambition does pose its challenges. “I have always been fiery; I go after things,” she said. “But what I learned from my mother is to step back and actually experience things that are happening. So for me, it’s about meditating. My Everest is to have that become a real part of my life.”
