In a tinge of guilt and fear of the national park gods, a young child named Evie wrote a letter of apology to Yosemite National Park for taking two sticks out of the park. Mother Nature will probably forgive the adorable child who wrote in her letter that she knows that she’s “not supposed to take things from the park.”

Oh, sweet Evie! If only that were the worst thing that ever happened in the park.

Reddit user bestmattever, who claims to be a Yosemite National Park Ranger, says he received Edie’s letter in the mail, and took the time to respond to the little girl’s request. “I sent her a nice letter and an extra Junior Ranger badge,” he commented on Reddit. “I told her how impressed we all were, and how we hung up her letter in our office so we could show others how great our Junior Rangers like Evie are.”

He’s even living up to Evie’s wish that the sticks be returned to nature, and will take pictures of them once they are back in their natural habitat.
