Pink Stops Concert to Ask if Crying Girl Is Okay
Just when we thought we couldn’t worship Pink more than we already do, she goes and tries to comfort a crying girl, right in the middle of her concert on Sunday in her hometown of Philadelphia.
And we thought her singing was awesome. It’s nothing compared to her compassion!
According to the Los Angeles Times, the superstar mom to 21-month-old Willow stopped mid-way through her song “Who Knew” — right after the lyric “I’d stand up and punch them out” — to make sure a little girl she could see crying in the audience was okay.
“Is everything okay right here?” she said into the microphone. “Is this little girl all right? What’s going on? Why is she crying? Why is she upset?”
Turns out the child had gotten worked up over a fight going on in the crowd and that did not sit well with the 33-year-old singer. “You all are fighting around a little girl? C’mon…all right, all right, that’s cool. I know everyone’s about to fight. I know, I’m from here.”
Then Pink did what any mom would do to comfort a crying kid — she offered her a snack and a toy. “Honey, do you want this frog? Will this frog and this Rice Krispie treat make you feel better? You’re beautiful, don’t cry. Cry when you’re older. Thank you for coming.”
It’s funny that Pink, who is used to belting out tunes about fighting and punching people out, has become a little softer, a little sweeter, and what we’d call punk-rock-lite. But hey, motherhood will do that to you!
