It is suspected that the Queen of England is planning to gift Anmer Hall — a mansion on Her Majesty’s private Sandringham Estate — to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but even before the official announcement, plans for major renovations and additions to the royal property have been revealed by the UK’s Telegraph.
It sounds like William and Kate aren’t coveting ye olde English mansion exactly as it stands, but we don’t blame them for wanting to add a few extra shrubberies for privacy, opening up the lawn for their royal autos, and tacking on a brand new 16x16 garden room off the kitchen. This added space will reportedly feature a pergola-covered patio allowing the family even more privacy.
The Telegraph also reports that a wood store on the property will now become a sitting room and lavatory, which could potentially be used by police protection officers.
Council papers have described the application submitted by royal officials as a ‘major development.’ Considering that the Duke and Duchess are also waiting out the completion of the Kensington Palace renovations in a rented farmhouse, we hope one of the properties will be ready by the time the new prince or princess arrives!
Also, we fully expect reports and photos of what is surely the most highly anticipated nursery design this year (at least for us!).
