Being famous means you get bragging rights when toy companies turn you into an action figure or Barbie doll. But Kate Middleton and Prince William’s child probably won’t be getting the Princess Catherine doll next Christmas, because her plastic namesake totally freaked the Duchess out.
While greeting a crowd in Scotland on April 5, Kate saw Dayna Miller’s Kate doll and her reaction was pretty funny — if not a little grossed out. “No! Oh no, is that me? Is that meant to be me?” Kate asked.
While an excited Dayna, 11, didn’t hesitate to tell Kate that she had received the doll for Christmas, we think it’s hilarious that all the Duchess could think about was how bad the doll’s hair was. Princesses, they’re just like us!
“Does my hair really look like that?!” she said. Dayna told Kate, “Her hair was not nearly so big and she laughed and seemed happy.”
To be honest, we’ve seen so much worse than the puffed up hairdo the doll makers gave Kate, and we think the doll kinda looks a bit like her — although we’ve never seen Kate have crazy eyes like that!
Another issue, as Dayna pointed out, is the royal jewelry. “Your engagement ring is on the wrong finger and is pink not blue,” she told Kate. Wow! Good eye, Dayna — talk about attention to detail!
Dayna was very impressed with the Duchess. “I can’t believe how nice she was though,” she adds. “She was just lovely. This has been the best day ever.”
You tell us: Do you think the Princess Catherine doll looks like Kate?
