Pregnant Kate Middleton was in high spirits on Wednesday at the commemoration of the London subway system known as the Tube — even receiving a Baby on Board badge, which she pinned onto her peacock-blue coat. The duchess accompanied Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at the ceremony celebrating the Tube’s 150th anniversary.
At around five months pregnant, it was fitting that the Duchess of Cambridge would receive the infamous Baby on Board badge, and per usual, the adorable mommy-to-be chuckled as she kindly accepted the gift.
The badges are meant to alleviate the awkwardness for pregnant women who must ask for a seat on the train, but we wonder about how many women actually use them. It’s kind of a big public statement, and if we’re sick or have sore feet, we’ve never felt weird about asking for a seat.
Of course, Kate will never have to wear the pin since she no longer uses the Tube, and more importantly, if she ever boarded a public train, I’m sure she would have no problem finding a seat during rush hour, pregnant or not!
We want to know: How do you feel about the Baby on Board badge, and would you ever wear one?
