Contrary to popular belief, not all little girls dream of kissing a prince. At least that’s true for one little girl in Glasgow who, instead of accepting a kiss from Prince William, gave him the royal blow off by pulling away.

ABC News reported that when Prince William leaned into to grab a little peck on the cheek, the 4-year-old tot turned her face away, causing the crushed prince to cry out, “Oh no!”

Poor guy! We’ll bet this is the first time Prince William has ever felt the sting of rejection from a girl — even if it was a toddler. We can’t help but think that she may have taught the dad-to-be a parenting lesson that he’ll need when his own child is born in mid-July, which is, kids don’t always act the way we’d like them to. Normally it’s while we’re in public, and usually it’s totally embarrassing.

Unfortunately, getting turned down once was all Prince William was willing to withstand, as another mom told the AP, “Prince William came across and had a little chat with us, and we asked if he would give Heidi [a baby girl] a kiss, but apparently he had already been refused a kiss from someone else.”

Sounds like the royal ego can only withstand so much rejection in one day. “I already kissed one child and I got turned away, so that was it,” joked Prince William.

We bet he’ll get over the brush-off, but we wonder if the toddler will end up living to regret it?
