Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow is not one to sit still. Sure, the mother of four may be married to successful plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, but that doesn’t mean she’s a lady of leisure. Heather, who was an established actress before she had kids, is making the rounds during pilot season, reading scripts, and, oh yeah, taking care of her four kids.

We caught up with Heather at the opening of Top Chef alum Fabio Viviani’s new restaurant Siena Tavern in Chicago on Friday, and it turns out they’ve had a lot going on since last season.

Wetpaint Moms: Heather! What’s going on with your health?
Heather Dubrow: I have ulcerated vocal chords and haven’t spoken in 2 ½ weeks, which is very difficult with the kids. But it’s very flexible and I’m just so happy it can be fixed but my doctor told me to shut the you-know-what up.

So, tell us about selling your house. Was it a matter of outgrowing your space?
Heather: Ever since we had that surprise fourth baby, the house just hasn’t worked for us because we didn’t really plan on four kids and bedrooms, which seems so silly since it’s such a large home. The kids are young, they don’t want to be on a different floor from us. We got an offer [on the house] that we couldn’t refuse. We’re still in our home now, but we’ll be out in about a month or 6 weeks. We have a lot that we love. It’s close to where we are now but in a different community. We’re going to test the ‘build a house, lose a spouse’ theory one more time.

How do you balance parenting and career?
Heather: Parenting is a major job. I’m very passionate about my career and I’m at a good point where my youngest will be in preschool in the fall so it’s a good time. The light’s at the end of my tunnel. I didn’t have kids for someone else to raise them. But right now, it feels like the right time to go back to work.
