What would you do if your child’s school called and said because he or she was misbehaving, you had two choices: Either your child would observe a three-day suspension, or they would be spanked three times with a paddle?

According to WTVM 9, Tekicia Yancie was concerned about her 11-year-old daughter Jordyn missing so much school, so she opted to allow East Columbus Magnet Academy school administrators to paddle her daughter. Ironically, Jordyn ended up missing four days of school while she recovered from her injuries.

"When I got paddled,” Jordyn said, “it felt like he was hitting me with something else because it really hurt. I told him that he was hitting me hard. And when I got finished being paddled, I ran in the corner and started crying."

The bruises on Jordyn’s behind were visible, and Tekicia’s friend advised her to call the police before her daughter went back to school with her injuries and Tekicia was blamed for abusing her own child.

Jordyn says she was being punished for “bullying,” which amounted to a drawing she made of one of her short haired male classmates in long hair and pigtails. Tekicia is not sold on her daughter’s drawing being called bullying — at least not so much that it should result in suspension or spanking as punishment.

We want to know what you think: How do you feel about Jordyn being spanked at school?
