Oh baby, this story’s a doozy!
According to AZCentral (via The Stir), Arizona resident Jane Colvard had absolutely no idea that she was pregnant — and giving birth at that moment — until she saw the baby’s head crowning. She had been admitted to the hospital for intense pain due to what she thought might be kidney stones. Nope, just a baby! Apparently the doctor had left her sitting in a wheelchair and she reached down to find a very big surprise.
So how did this happen? The mom of two (now three) told ABC15, “I gained some weight, but not to where I thought I was pregnant. I didn’t feel (the baby) move. I had my normal cycle.”
Okay, and it gets even more interesting. The baby’s father is a friend of Jane’s, Brian Ojinaga, who she hadn’t seen in seven months. Imagine that phone call: “Hey, I just drove myself to the hospital because I thought I had kidney stones, but I was wrong. I had a baby instead. Her name is Isabella, she was born at 36 weeks, at 4 lbs., 15 oz…oh yeah, and she’s yours!
Luckily, mom and baby are both doing well!
