It’s Jada Pinkett Smith Talking About Willow!
The Smith family takes stardom to a whole new level with their kids — Willow and Jaden — who are just as talented as their famous folks. But Will and Jada took some heat back in February for allowing 12-year-old Willow to shave her head. Will commented on the criticism telling Parade back in May, “We let Willow cut her hair … She has got to have command of her body. When she goes out into the world, she’s going out with a command that is hers.”
Jada spoke up on Facebook saying, “The question why I would LET Willow cut her hair. First the LET must be challenged. This is a world where women, girls are constantly reminded that they don't belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination … Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be.”
