One Artist's Menstrual Blood Is The Focus Of Her Newest Exhibit

This art exhibit is bound to make more than one person queezy. Artist Carina Úbeda Chacana, a recent art school grad from Valparaíso, saved her menstrual rags for five years hoping that some day she would be able to use them for an art piece. Stretching the rags over embroidery hoops, hanging them from the ceiling, stitching words like “discard” and “destroyed” below the red (and sometimes brown) blotches, her newest installation is definitely an interesting approach to personal art.
