According to reports, Kris Humphries did not see his own divorce from reality star Kim Kardashian coming. From the statement that said he was still committed to his marriage to the sullen behavior witnessed this week in New York, it’s obvious that the basketball player has seen better days.

But at the OP Winter Wonderland party on November 16, his friend of eight years, Matt Nordgren from Bravo’s Most Eligible Dallas, told Wetpaint Entertainment that Kris will be OK.

“He’s a really good man, and I haven’t had a chance to see him in person, but his spirits are up,” Matt told us on the red carpet.

Despite what transpired, Kris has not made any negative comments to his friend about the unraveling of his marriage and his soon to be ex-wife.

“He’s a guy that always attacks everything positively,” says Matt. “He’s just that kind of guy. He’s always spoken positively about her and everything that’s going on.”

Still, what went down just 72 days after the couple said “I do” caught the reality star by surprise.

“A little,” he admits. “I think [Kris] was too.”

But despite his friend’s experience and his own unsuccessful relationship with MED’s Courtney Kerr, Matt’s ready to tackle reality dating again – perhaps as the next Bachelor.

“I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” he told us. “I’d definitely be open to it.”

What do you think? Time to let Matt lose with a large group of eligible women? Or should he sort things out with Courtney first?
