Grey’s Anatomy: Most (and Least) Romantic Calzona Moments of Season 10

Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 sent one of our favorite married couples on the emotional rollercoaster of their lives. After Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) made a huge mistake by cheating on Callie (Sara Ramirez) with visiting surgeon Lauren, their relationship was put in serious jeopardy. During their separation, there were times when we thought they were never getting back together.

But somehow, Callie and Arizona managed to pull through like we hoped… but not without a ton of elephant-sized bumps along the way. As it turns out, no relationship is perfect — not even one that’s as adorable as the one that Callie and Arizona share. On the bright side? Despite all the drama, this season still managed to give us plenty of Calzona shaped warm fuzzies, and when we meet them again in Season 11, it looks like they’ll still be going strong.

Here are some of Season 10’s most — and least — romantic moments. If you have to pull out a box of tissues as you’re remembering some of these scenes, we totally wouldn’t blame you.

When Callie finally asks Arizona to come home (Episode 9, “Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word): Callie’s thrown for a loop when her dad comes to town and reveals that he cheated on her mother, but her mother forgave him and now their relationship is better than ever. But once she gets over the initial shock, she realizes it’s time to work on finding a way to forgive Arizona, and shows up at her hotel room to ask her to move back home. Of course, Leah’s hiding between the sheets at the time, but we’ll pretend that never happened.

Callie gives Arizona a ring when they move into their new house (Episode 14: “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away”): In a step to get their relationship back on track, Callie and Arizona ditch their apartment in favor of a new house, where they can make new memories. To symbolize their new beginning, Callie gets Arizona a gorgeous ring with the date they moved in inscribed in the band. Most adorable moment ever? Definitely.

Callie and Arizona decide to have another baby (Episode 20: “Go It Alone”): Next step in their new lives? A sister for Sofia. Unfortunately, their decision doesn’t end well — Callie ends up finding out that because of the car accident she was in the last time she was pregnant, scarring has made it impossible for her to carry children. So the kid thing is on the back burner for now, but Callie and Arizona end the season open to the possibility of using a surrogate.

And, even though we hate to think about them, the least romantic moments:

Callie and Arizona fight about Arizona’s affair (Episode 1: “Seal Our Fate”): When Callie finds out Arizona cheated, all hell understandably breaks loose. Callie has the same reaction anyone would have in that situation, but it doesn’t make their argument any less painful to witness. The worst part? As much as we wanted them to just make up with each other in that moment, we knew it was impossible… and maybe they just didn’t belong together as much as they — and we — originally thought.

When Callie stops Arizona from seeing Sofia (Episode 2: “I Want You With Me”): Callie’s heartbroken and needs time to process, so she doesn’t want Arizona anywhere near her. Not surprising, right? But she takes it a step too far when she refuses to let Arizona see Sofia, either. Keeping your spouse from seeing the child you share? Um, yeah, not cool.

When Callie finds out about Arizona’s sexcapades with Leah (Episode 10: “Somebody That I Used to Know”): This time, Arizona wasn’t cheating (as Ross from Friends would say, they were on a break) but it doesn’t mean it hurt any less when Callie found out that Arizona had rebounded with Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer). Let’s be real, though — Arizona’s honesty that she needed to be with someone who didn’t know her before she lost her leg? That took guts, and it was pretty much required for Callie and Arizona to ever live happily ever after again.
