Michelle Dockery’s New Role: See Her Play a Flight Attendant! (VIDEO)
What would the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) make of her granddaughter’s new gig? True, we know Michelle Dockery isn’t actually related to Maggie — because she’s our imaginary grandma, obviously — but it’s still startling to see the posh Lady Mary catering to others. Isn’t Carson suppose to serve the peanuts?
Michelle — who has been dabbling in movies but, thankfully, hasn’t left Downton Abbey permanently like one certain golden cherub — plays a flight attendant in the February 2014 film Non-Stop. The thriller also stars A-listers Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson and it’s pretty much Taken meets The Grey minus the kidnappers and the wolves. In a nutshell, it’s Liam Neeson being Liam Neeson and us loving it.
Although Michelle doesn’t have much to say in the trailer, she looks to play a fairly central role in the movie. (Liam doesn’t just throw anyone up against a wall.) IMdB notes Michelle’s character is named Nancy and we suspect she’s English since the flight in question goes non-stop (get it?) from New York to London. Guess we’ll have to wait to hear Michelle’s American accent in another upcoming film role.
Meanwhile, we’ll content ourselves with the badass slow motion gun fight scene at the end of the trailer. If only there was a role on Downton for a seasoned badass like Liam. Got any ideas, Julian?
