Viewers tuning in for the evening news in Bismarck, North Dakota, on Saturday, November 30, got a classy treat: the newscaster joining anchor Amber Schatz at the KX News desk was none other than Ron Burgundy, aka Will Ferrell's super-suave character from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and the forthcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

Admirably, Ron helped deliver the news for the entire 30-minute broadcast and even hogged the screentime, creeping into Amber's shot and massaging the sports reporter's shoulder.

And he has the Baxter — sorry, the banter down pat.

"And now to Jared, who joins us with a first look at the forecast," he segues, turning to weatherman Jared Piepenburg. "Last time I saw you, you were a lot heavier. I feel like you lost, like, 50 pounds! Well, good for you. Good for you."

If the clip below is not enough time spent with the scotch-swilling legend, you'll have a lot more Ron action once Anchorman 2 hits theaters on December 18. The film chronicles his foray (alongside his cronies) into the 24-hour news cycle.

And the intrepid reporter has a new book out: Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings.

Our reaction to this sudden influx of Burgundy? "Sweet grandmother's spatula!"
