Remember when Orlando Bloom was the new hot thang in Hollywood? Man, those were the days.

The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star hasn't been in quite as bright of a spotlight recently, but now he's reprising the role that made him famous in the first place, because Legolas is back in the latest installment of The Hobbit, The Desolation of Smaug.

We all know Orlando as the guy who looks good in both long blonde locks and pirate garb, but who is he beyond the pretty face? We've gathered five fun facts about the actor that you might not know.

1. He broke his rib filming Lord of the Rings. Legolas might be able to ride horses with an unnatural grace, but Orlando himself ran into trouble while filming The Fellowship of the Rings, falling off his horse and breaking a rib! And that's far from the only injury he's suffered.

2. He has dyslexia. Orlando spoke at length to the Child Mind Institute about how he'd dealt with having dyslexia.

3. He's afraid of pigs. Who knew?

4. He's a Buddhist. And has been since he was 19!

5. He didn't originally audition to be Leogals. He first went out for the role of Faramir, but ended up landing Legolas, which is really a bigger part.
