Magic Mike 2 seems to officially be underway — and star Channing Tatum is helping write the script, using co-star Matthew McConaughey as his muse!
In his February 9 Instagram, the hunky 33-year-old contemplatively gnaws a pen as he gazes upon the sculpted visage of Matthew McConaughey — or, at least, a bust of the Dallas Buyers Club actor's face.
"What better way to start writing #MagicMike2 than with my old friend Dallas?" Channing writes, referencing Matt's character.
The first film, released in June 2012, wowed audiences and critics alike with its brazen look at the comedy and drama behind a male strip club — its story based on Channing's own experience as a stripper in Tampa, Florida.
The actor first talked about the prospect of a sequel only a couple months later. In a Glamour Q&A, a fan asked him if he had intentions of a Magic Mike 2.
"Yes, yes and yes!" Channing responded. "We're working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger."
Make it bigger, huh? First of all, that's what he/she said. Second of all, we can hardly imagine how they're gonna outdo the original!
