Do you feel that the Force is with you, Star Wars fans? Then you may be lucky enough to win a walk-on role in the highly anticipated galactic sequel, Star Wars: Episode VII. All you need to do is support a good cause for a chance to win.
Director J.J. Abrams announced the charitable contest in a YouTube video taped on the film's Abu Dhabi set — made to look like a desert marketplace. (His spiel is briefly interrupted by some snorting alien creature passing by, carrying a crate of alien poultry on its back.)
"You get to meet the cast, go behind-the-scenes, and see the whole movie-making process," J.J. explains. "But more than that, we'll put you in hair and makeup and wardrobe and you'll actually get to be in the movie."
That means you'll share the screen with the film's high-profile cast, which includes newcomers like Adam Driver (Girls) and Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) alongside returning stars like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford.
"But the greatest part is that by entering for your chance to join us you'll get to help us launch something else — Star Wars: Force For Change," J.J. continues. "It's a brand-new initiative. It's dedicated to finding creative solutions to the world's biggest problems by supporting UNICEF Innovation Labs."
All it takes is a $10 donation for a chance to win the big prize, but you get a bigger chance of winning (and other sweet rewards) by donating higher amounts.
You can find out all the details and pledge your donation at the initiative's Omaze page.
As a dwarfish green sage once said, "Do or do not. There is no try."
