Potterheads likely feel like they were hit with a Cheering Charm today, July 8, as Harry Potter mastermind J.K. Rowling released a new short story on the site Pottermore that provides an update on the Wizards.

The story is told as a gossip column by the salacious Rita Skeeter entitled "Dumbledore's Army Reunites at Quidditch World Cup" and dated with today's date.

Sure enough, the Boy Who Lived is now a man of 33, bringing his family to this year's Quidditch World Cup in the Patagonian desert — and introducing sons James and Albus to his Goblet of Fire rival Viktor Krum.

Also present are Harry's married besties Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger and their family, other Weasley family members, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and assorted other vets of Dumbledore's Army.

In addition to providing updates on the post-Deathly Hallows lives of all involved, Rita is as "enchantingly nasty" as ever — mocking Hermione's hair, casting aspersions about Neville's drinking, and belittling the Ginny's talent.

This isn't the first time J.K. has released supplemental texts for the Potterverse — her spin-off books include Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

She's also in the process of writing the script for a movie based on her book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is set 70 years before Harry's book starts. In the meantime, you can read this new short story by signing into Pottermore or heading over to Today!
