Since it was announced that Ben Affleck would be the latest actor to step into the Batmobile as one of the title characters in the new Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, fans have had mixed opinions on whether or not Ben was right for the job. And who can blame them? Not just anybody can fill the legendary superhero’s cape, right?
But now, thanks to a newly released photo from DC Comics, we have a bit better of an idea about whether or not Ben can pull the whole bat thing off. In the somber, dark pic, we see Ben’s batty profile, mask and all.
As part of the celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary, DC’s commemorating the Gotham City hero with a mosaic of all of his various forms — including his latest incarnation.
“The filmmakers wanted to include this new cinematic version of the Dark Knight in the mosaic so it could be discovered by fans!” the DC Comics website says. “The cast and crew behind Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice are excited to be part of the 75th celebration!”
Love Ben or not, Batman’s looking pretty good for 75!
Fans were given a first look at Ben as Batman back in May, when director Zack Snyder gave us a glimpse of the Batmobile and Ben in costume — a more simplified, streamlined look than that of Batmans (Batmen?) past.
So what do you think — Are you pleased with the casting decision, or do you still think a different actor should have been chosen for the role?
