Jamie Foxx to Star in Mike Tyson Biopic (VIDEO)

Jamie Foxx might want to brush up on his ear-biting skills! Sources tell Variety that the Academy Award winner will take the lead role in a film about famed boxer Mike Tyson.

The film doesn't have a title yet, nor does it have a studio to call home, but it does have a writer — Boardwalk Empire creator and Wolf of Wall Street scribe Terence Winter will pen the script.

It's not Jamie’s first time in the biopic ring, so to speak — the 46-year-old previously took home Oscar gold for his portrayal of singer Ray Charles in 2004's Ray and portrayed homeless celloist Nathaniel Ayers in 2009's The Soloist. And it's not his first boxing movie either! He play Muhammad Ali's trainer and cornerman Drew Bundini Brown in the 2001 film Ali.

Meanwhile, Mike is a polarizing figure whose life story practically begs for the cinematic treatment. He wowed the boxing world in the '80s but hit a turbulent patch in the '90s — being convicted of rape, serving a three-year prison sentence, and biting off part of Evander Holyfield's ear in a 1997 match. The next decade wasn't much easier: He declared bankruptcy in 2003 and lost his four-year-old daughter in a tragic accident in 2009.

Such highs and lows should make for quite the movie! We're eager to see how Jamie knocks it out.
