Vin Diesel and Paul Walker weren't just friends on screen, they were close in real life, too.

And Vin proved it when he honored the late actor while accepting an award at the 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards.

The Fast & Furious franchise took home this year's MTV Generation Award, and Vin took the stage to accept it alongside series co-stars Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez.

Before honoring Paul, who passed away in a car crash in 2013 at the age of 40, the action star praised his franchise for its diverse cast — eliciting massive cheers from the crowd.

"This multicultural franchise, where it didn't matter what color your skin was or what country you were from, when you're family, you're family," the 49-year-old said.

"And I could never stand on this stage and talk about Fast & Furious without giving love to my brother Pablo... our brother Pablo," Vin began his tribute to Paul, using the nickname he had given him.

"We hope you're proud," he continued, looking toward the heavens and lifting the trophy. "Thank you so much."

The moment was certainly an emotional one for the actor, who has been candid in the past while speaking about his deceased friend.

Last year, the Guardians of the Galaxy star revealed that the years since Paul's death had been some of the hardest of his life while in Brazil, a country he had previously visited several times with his former co-star.

"It was a lot of tissues and it was a hard morning for me yesterday because I was here [and Paul wasn't]," he said at the time.
