MTV Orders Abductee Drama Finding Carter to Series
MTV is about to get a little more drama-filled. The network has given a green light to Finding Carter, a new drama from executive producer Terri Minsky (Sex and the City). The coming of age drama was given a 12-episode order — which seems like just an introduction to a very complex and intense story.
Finding Carter stars Kathryn Prescott (Skins) as the titular teenager. The story centers on Carter, who, after discovering that her supposed mom, Lori (Milena Govich), abducted her when she was a toddler, returns to her real family and has to adjust. We have to also note that Carter finds this harrowing news when the police busts a high school party. Bummer, man.
Carter’s new parents are played by Angel’s Alexis Denisof and Lost’s Cynthia Watros and her newly-reunited twin sister is played by newcomer Anna Jacoby-Heron. But her new family is the least of her worries, as she is also dealing with high school and teenage boys, yikes.
Amid all of the drama, Carter sets out with one goal: find Lori before she’s gone forever. Sounds like this show is going to be a lot of blood vs. water and real mom vs. mom who’s been there for you along the way. Heavy stuff, right?
