UPDATE: Looks like Suge Knight is going to be fine. TMZ reports that the music mogul was released from Cedars Sinai hospital early today, August 27, just three days after being hit by six bullets. As always, Suge is a survivor.

The site also reports that the Death Row Records founder is not opening his mouth about who might've been on the other end of the firearm. According to their source, when cops asked Suge about the shooting, he responded, "I was shot?"

We wish him a continued speedy recovery, although it sounds like he's got that covered on his own!

Original Story, August 24, 2014:

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards are off to a somber start. Marion “Suge” Knight — founder of Death Row Records — and two other unidentified people were wounded in a shooting at a pre-VMAs bash hosted by Chris Brown. Read on for all the details.

At this time authorities have declined to giving out much information about what went down at West Hollywood’s 1OAK nightclub early Sunday morning. While they’re not releasing the names of the victims, they did confirm to Mashable there were two men, ages 32 and 49, and a 19-year-old female — all of whom are in stable condition at Cedars Sinai.

Suge Knight’s family released a statement to Revolt TV confirming that he is the 49-year-old victim and urging his fans to keep him in their prayers. This isn’t the first time something tragic has happened to the Knight family. Suge was also shot at Kanye West’s VMAs pre-party back in 2005. TMZ reports that Suge is out of surgery and recovering from six gunshot wounds.

“The family of Suge Knight ask that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray from the negativity portrayed by the media,” a statement to Revolt TV from Suge’s family reads, confirming that he is the 49-year-old male victim. “Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he’s human. He’s done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.”

While a spokesperson from MTV tells Mashable the network “has no affiliation nor is connected to this event in any way,” Chris is feeling pretty ticked off about what went down at his party. The 25-year-old singer took to Twitter to voice his opinion about the fiasco. “It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes,” he wrote. “Miss me with the bulls—t!!!”

Chris is slated to present at tonight’s awards show, so stay tuned to see if he’ll address the drama at all.
