The Vampire Diaries Music: How to Get Your Song on the Soundtrack

The Vampire Diaries production team seems to have no weak link and that includes their stellar soundtrack of edgy indie rock, energetic disco-pop, and sultry, sentimental ballads. Basically, TVD has some of the best music on television. And, now, you could be a part of it! Read on to find out how to get your song on the TVD soundtrack.

“For anyone wanting to submit music for me to check out for TV shows and films, you can send me links and tunes to,” Chris Mollere, the music supervisor for TVD boldly tweeted yesterday. We have to say: we’re rather impressed with his collaborative enthusiasm.

Chris is no stranger to the world of television and film soundtrack. Other television shows he’s worked on include: Pretty Little Liars, Greek, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Kyle XY. Basically, he’s really good at his job. Don’t believe us? Check out the compilation list we made of the 15 greatest musical moments in Season 4 of TVD.

We wonder if TVD cast member Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) has seen Chris’ tweet. Over the summer, she released an electro-pop single called “Power.” The song is all about, as you may have guessed, power - more specifically, the power that comes from within. Sound like it could have some common thematic issues with our favorite supernatural drama…

Catch the Season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
