5 Celebrity Music Video Cameos — Before They Were Famous! (VIDEO)

Everyone has to start out somewhere, but some starts are way cooler than others — like these celebs who nabbed early roles in music videos! Clevver rounds up their top 5 weird music video cameos and some of their picks are way surprising.

5. Basically the entire Pretty Little Liars cast. By "entire," we mean three. Shay Mitchell (Emily Fields) got steamy with reggae artist Sean Paul in his video for "Hold My Hand," but Ashley Benson (Hanna Marin) and Janel Parrish (Mona Vanderwaal) went a different direction for their musical cameos! They each starred in a separate video for mid-2000s boy band NLT, featuring Glee's Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams)!

4. Matthew McConaughey. Way before he was getting Oscar nods — even before Dazed and Confused — Matthew McConaughey played the cute-dude lead in the Trisha Yearwood vid for "Walkaway Joe," which also featured Don Henley of the Eagles. He looks an awful lot like young Rust Cohle… just sayin'.

3. Ross and Riker Lynch of R5. Considering the R. Lynches went on to front a Disney-hyped band, we're actually not too surprised that they appeared in Miley Cyrus's video for "Ordinary Girl."

Honestly, if this is a "surprising" list, pretty much any of Clevver's honorable mentions might've been a better fit for the Number 3 spot. Jeremy Renner was in Pink's "Trouble" video, Mila Kunis was in Aerosmith's "Jaded," Angelina Jolie was in The Rolling Stones's "Has Anyone Seen My Baby," and then-15-year-old Nicole Kidman was in Pat Wilson's "Bop Girl." Jennifer Lopez's role in Janet Jackson's "That's The Way Love Goes" video also gets a nod, but that's not too huge for J.Lo, who often appeared as a backup dancer in the early '90s.

2. Kellan Lutz. Before he was a sexy vampire in Twilight, Kellan Lutz was just an ordinary sexy human in Hilary Duff's 2007 video for "With Love."

1. Channing Tatum. Watch the video above to see the 2000 music video that Channing briefly appeared in as a dancer… with his face scandalously close to a lady's bottom half.
