Remember Danity Kane? They were the girls that had your head nodding along to their catchy hit “Show Stopper” back in the summer of 2006. Or, perhaps you just remember them as the girl group that Diddy whipped into shape on his hit MTV reality show, Making the Band. It’s time to dig these ladies out from their pop cultural storage place, as Aubrey O’Day, Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex, and Aundrea Fimbres are back — and they’re back with a vengeance.
The foursome announced their reunion on the MTV VMA red carpet back in August, sending tongues wagging as to whether they could pull off a comeback all of these years later. They set the record straight on Monday night with a live performance at the House of Blues in L.A., proving they’ve still got it!
The audience was treated to some of their biggest hits, as well as some covers, including an acoustic rendition of Miley’s “Wrecking Ball”! The ladies also paid tribute to Prince and Madonna.
DK also debuted a brand new song, “All in a Day’s Work,” which will be included on their forthcoming album. “This song is … about bitches that make it look easy,” said Aubrey on stage, before the group broke into the girl power anthem. So fierce.
Welcome back, ladies!
