Carly Rae Jepsen’s is truly a Cinderella story. Once upon a time, she was just a simple girl from British Columbia, Canada, until one day she got invited to a huge ball (a.k.a. Canadian Idol Season 5). From there on out, this princess’s story has never been the same.

The latest chapter in her fairy tale came at the end of last year when Carly announced she’d be debuting on Broadway as the world’s first famous shoe lover, Cinderella.

“Sooooo... I’m ready to spill my NYC secret. I am going to be playing Cinderella on Broadway starting Feb. 4th! Dream come true,” she shared via her Instagram last month. The 28-year-old songstress takes over from Tony Award-nominated actress Laura Osnes as she concludes her one-year run with the show next month. Fran Drescher (the nanny with the world-famous voice) will also be joining the cast as Cinderella’s stepmother.

A week after announcing the big news, Carly took to her Instagram once again to share two sneak peeks at her new role as a princess.

“First day on set and they let me try on the BIG wedding dress! They had to bribe me with smarties to take it off. @CinderellaBway let’s play dress up again tmr please! #CinderellaBway,” she captioned a pic of her all dolled up in a satiny gown. The only thing missing: Cinderella’s tiny mice friends and a fairy godmother or two.

In the other photo, we get a look at what we think is Carly’s dress for the ball. “And this is the moment I tried on the glass slipper for the first time. @Cinderellabway it fits! Xo  #CinderellaBway,” she wrote.

Cindy’s Prince Charming doesn’t make an appearance in these photos but since she’s trying on her wedding dress, we’re guessing he did call her. Maybe.
