It’s only been a week since Ashanti debuted the sexy video for her second single, “I Got It,” off her BraveHeart album, and she’s already giving fans a taste of what else is to come off her highly-anticipated album.

Her newest release is a track called “First Real Love,” featuring Jamaica’s finest, Beenie Man, and the reggae-infused dance tune definitely gives us flashbacks of to the wonderful days of ‘90s dancehall.

Oh, how we miss those days…

The song, which chronicles Ashanti’s “first real love,” has obviously raised a few eyebrows as to the source of inspiration… could the song possibly be about her ex-boyfriend of 9 ½ years, Nelly?

Well, when TheYBF spoke with Ashanti about the her ex’s influence on some of the songs on her album, she admitted, “Did Nelly inspire some records? Absolutely. It's just about being real, being honest and being brave. Writing about what I really felt and what I really went through. Yeah, he was part of it.

As of late, there’s been a  speculation that Ashanti and her ex may be hooking up after they were spotted hanging out together during Superbowl weekend (February 2), but so far, nothing’s been confirmed and it looks like it just maybe a hopeful rumor.

Whether these two are getting back together or not, we’re just happy that their relationship inspired this track that we’re just so busy dancing in our chairs to.

Ashanti’s fifth studio album BraveHeart makes its debut on March 4.
