Don’t you just hate it when the dude you’ve been emailing for years turns out to be a fake Diplo? Well, that’s exactly what happened to rapper Kreayshawn — you know, of “Gucci Gucci” fame. The other night she realized she had been catfished by an Internet troll for years!

Kreayshawn decided to vlog about getting duped (and let us see her awesome Dragon Ball Z posters) on Monday, July 14. She divulged the entire story about how she had begun a casual years-long email conversation with someone posing as Diplo. The conversation was so casual, in fact, that Kreayshawn’s pal decided to send her a “dick pic” and constantly asked her for a personal sex tape — to which she thankfully said “hell naw.”

Fast-forward to 2014 when Kreayshawn, who is now actual buddies with the real Diplo, hit up her bud on Twitter to reminisce about the “old times.” When Diplo denied having had the email convo with her, Kreayshawn sent him the phallic photo and he confirmed that it couldn’t be him because there was no tattoo down there. Too bad the whole “I can’t FaceTime because I’m in Hong Kong” excuse didn’t tip her off years ago, though.

Your average person would be pretty bummed about getting catfished, but Kreayshawn is not your typical catfishing victim.

“These emails, like, really inspired me,” Kreayshawn said. “At the end of the day, whoever this troll was, ended up inspiring my whole career… kinda. Give it up to the trolls. I’m trying to explain to [the real] Diplo how much these messages meant to me, but it wasn’t even him and it’s like whoa, mind blown-type s—t.”

As for who the culprit might be? Kreayshawn thinks it might be a “crazy ex-boyfriend” because “what kind of girl doesn’t have one of those?” Well put, Kreayshawn.
