If you haven’t heard, Mya’s back and better than ever! The ‘90s hottie who stole our hearts with songs like “Fallen” and “Alive” made her glorious return to the spotlight with an iHeartRadio Music Awards performance that not even Rihanna could laugh at (sorry not sorry, Ariana Grande). But that was just a taste of the 34-year-old’s plans to re-conquer the entertainment world.
While attending the May 1 iHeartRadio event in L.A., she chatted up HipHollywood and confessed her musical collaboration with famous group the Fugees almost left the world Mya-less. Well, kind of.
“I almost died. I was a big fan,” she said of being in the same studio as the famous group. “So to be there with Wyclef [Jean] and Pras, I was really missing Lauryn [Hill], but that was a lot for me.”
Mya, of course, lent her vocal talents for the Pras song “Ghetto Superstar,” which also featured Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Now she’s working on her own new album (No. 9!) and is reportedly in the “final stages.” She’s already released two EPs this year, With Love and Sweet XVI, so we can’t see what’s coming next!
