Music’s Top Superstars Will Rock At The World Music Awards
If a tree falls in the woods but there’s no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? And if Miley Cyrus twerks without a global audience watching, did her twerk ever really happen? Luckily we don’t have to find out because Miley, along with dozens of global music superstars, will be fully televised in all their twerkingish glory in T-minus 12 days.
The World Music Awards are like the Olympics of music, except everyone at these games goes home with gold. Who are some of the top artists who will perform at this year’s festivities? Oh just a few peeps you may have heard of: Mariah Carey, Jason Derulo, Fall Out Boy, Ricky Martin, Flo Rida, and, of course, Miss Miley. (No word on her backup dancer bears yet, though.)
The 22nd edition of the International World Music Awards will be held in Monte Carlo and will air on Wednesday, May 28 8-10 p.m. ET on NBC. Unlike many other awards shows, this extravaganza doles out trophies based on sales and Internet votes. With no jury involved, the winners are determined by fans who vote and buy records. That means your favorite artist may actually have a chance at winning. You know, if the thousands of 13-year-old girls who got all their friends to vote too happen to like the same artist you do. It could happen.
You can vote here for your favorite artist — your vote may just change the future of the world.
Will you tune in to watch or are awards shows played out? Hit us up in the comments?
