Grammy-winning country artist Randy Travis is in critical condition after suffering complications related to viral cardiomyopathy.
The 54-year-old singer was admitted to an unknown Texas hospital on Sunday.
According to Johns Hopkins, cariomyopathy can refer to "any disease of the heart muscle that interferes with the heart’s ability to pump blood with sufficient force." Randy's spokesman Kirt Webster says that he had "recently acquired" a viral version of the ailment.
Randy has seven Grammys, 10 Academy of Country Music awards, and 10 American Music Awards.
