We’ve officially hit the road with Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) and Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen) on Luke Wheeler’s (Will Chase) tour during last night’s episode of Nashville — but we’re switching gears next week!

In Season 2, Episode 9 (“I’m Tired of Pretending”), it’s going to be a little less about the music and a little more about the family drama going on — though we’re going to get a little more background on Layla Grant (Aubrey Peeples), too!

As you might recall, Layla is on tour with Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), much to Juliette’s dismay. In the promo for the next episode (which will air on December 4), we see the rising tension between the two young stars, with Layla performing an encore and Juliette not being OK with it. We think there’s about to be a girlfight, and we’re pretty stoked about it.

Not only does the promo promise us “dueling divas,” but also “feuding fathers.” Yep, you guessed it, Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten) and Teddy Conrad (Eric Close) are finally going to reach a breaking point over Maddie (Lennon Stella). We see Teddy and Deacon almost get into a fight in the street, which leads Rayna to make a huge announcement: “It might be a good idea for her not to have a relationship with either one of you.” Drops mic. Wowza, we cannot wait for this explosive episode!
