Fans of Connie Britton have been following her career for nearly 20 years. From her humble beginning on Spin City to her dazzling performance as Rayna Jaymes on Nashville, she’s won our hearts. And now fans have one more way of staying in touch with the legendary actress: by following her on Twitter!

That’s right, Connie has officially arrived on the social networking site, luckily snagging the handle @conniebritton — though we’re scratching our heads trying to figure out how that wasn’t already taken. Her first tweet? “Hey y’all!” Naturally.

We know for a fact that this introductory tweet would make Friday Night Lights’ Tami Taylor proud — and it also stays true to her current role as a country music legend. Is it safe to say homegirl has a niche?

Within her first hour on Twitter, Connie has already added 20.6 thousand followers to her arsenal and that quintessentially Tami tweet has garnered 1,251 retweets and 1,819 favorites. She might still be lagging behind co-star Hayden Panettiere, but she’s been on the site since December 18, 2011.

Who are the lucky few that Connie is already following on Twitter? The cast of Nashville (obviously) as well as Scandal star Kerry Washington, President Barack Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

If you aren’t obsessed with Connie, it’s time to educate yourself. Not only has she starred in the above shows, but she also appeared on the first season of American Horror Story, FX’s hit anthology series.

We recommend following Connie on Twitter and marathoning all her shows. Like, right now.

Nashville airs on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
