Can we all just take a moment and thank Dolly Parton that there’s always something going down in Nashville? Done? Good. This season has been a rip-roaring good time, with plenty of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll, and it looks like Season 1, Episode 12, "I've Been Down That Road Before” is going to be more on that theme.

Avery confronts Gunnar: “Are you moving in on my woman? You just remember who had her first.”

Uh oh, gentleman. Looks like love is on the line and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) is the prize. We wouldn’t mind if these two fought over us for a spell...

Gunnar: “You didn’t ever deserve her.”

A little bravado is all well and good, Gunnar (Sam Palladio), but just remember that Avery (Jonathan Jackson) once made up an entire summer camp and had the hustle to pull it off. Oh wait, that was Jonathan Jackson in Camp Nowhere... Well, no matter, looks like he can still
throw a punch.

Scarlett Florence Nightingales Gunnar (Voiceover: “In this business, temptation is all around”)

Real talk: we’ve been DYING for these two to hook up for ages. Will this be the episode when it finally happens? According to the synopsis, “And Scarlett is counting pennies to keep her head above water — until Gunnar makes her an offer she can't refuse." Tell. Us. More.

Teddy: “You tell me you need time to process, and then Deacon ends up on your tour?”

Teddy (Eric Close) hasn’t exactly been the perfect man, but we were thinking things would change for him and Rayna (Connie Britton) now that the election is over. After all, she did make the choice to come home and be with him. How will sharing a plane/tour bus/stage (albeit not at the same time, since he’s not technically on her tour) affect that?

Voiceover: “And just too hard to resist”

Peggy. Back off. Go back to your husband, Brad Paisley. Oh wait, sorry Kimberly! We get confused sometimes because this seems all intersecty with real life. But still. Back off.

Peggy: “I see a man who deserves happiness”

Orrrrr not. Sorry for being devil’s advocate here, but would it really be so bad if Teddy and Rayna split up and he ended up with Peggy? As long as she wears that beret in their wedding, we’re okay with it...

Deacon: “There’s thinking about doing something, and then there’s just doing it.”

Yes.
