Tensions Are High in the Nashville Season 1 Finale
It's that time, y'all. The Nashville Season 1 finale is airing on Wednesday, May 22, and we're shocked that the season is already over. In Episode 21, "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive," everyone is on edge. With the Country Music Awards and the battle for Female Vocalist of the Year, Juliette's mom's funeral, and the news that Maddie's (Lennon Stella) pops isn't who everyone thinks he is... well, it's a lot to take in. Here's the finale synopsis for all your knowledge-needing mind:
A shadow has been cast over country music's biggest night: Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) discovers a letter from Jolene (Sylvia Jefferies) revealing her mother's true feelings; Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon’s (Charles Esten) fairytale evening at the CMA Awards, even performing with Brad Paisley — who guest stars as himself — may not end in a happily-ever-after; and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) will do whatever it takes to win Scarlett’s (Clare Bowen) heart back — but is it too late? Meanwhile the U.S. Attorney's office is closing in on Teddy (Eric Close), and Peggy (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) returns with a secret of her own.
Okay, well, what does this mean for us? Ever since Tandy (Judith Hoag) told Coleman (Robert Wisdom) about Teddy's shady dealings, we've been wondering what the former mayoral candidate would do with the information. He was hesitant to hear it, but a man with a thirst for power can't be stopped. As for what Peggy has to say? Uh, maybe it's that her IRL husband is showing up at her place of work and she won't stand for it.
