Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes Call It Quits — Report
Remember last week when Ariana Grande sent fans into a frenzy when she hinted at a possible breakup with The Wanted's Nathan Sykes during a live radio interview? Turns out the pint-sized singer was actually talking about her ex-boyfriend Jai Brooks, not Nate. Phew, close call. But wait! A brand new report from Us Weekly claims that Ariana and Nathan are, in fact, dunzo, which officially makes this the worst Christmas ever.
"They just weren’t into it anymore," an insider told the magazine on December 24.
So what went wrong? According to another source, the 20-year-old pop stars never had time to see each other. Translation: Ariana's career is taking off like crazy!
The Nickelodeon star — who has been dubbed "Baby Mariah Carey" by critics and fans alike — became a household name after the release of her debut album Yours Truly, nabbing the 2013 American Music Award for New Artist of the Year and even receiving a standing ovation for her performance of "Tattooed Heart." Since then she's been touring the country on a whirlwind press and performance tour, which has included some pretty major events like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center — just to name a few.
Nathan and Ariana went public with their relationship back in September, and were spotted as recently as December 2 looking cute and cuddly backstage after Ariana's performance at the 106.1 Kiss FM Jingle Ball concert in Dallas.
Perhaps they couldn't come to an agreement about where to spend the holidays? Ariana's been tweeting pictures with her grandparents back home in Florida, while Nathan's been busy finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping for his family who live in England.
Whatever the reason for their rumored split, both Ariana and Nathan seem to be in good spirits — and that's what matters most.
