Vampire Diaries Star Nathaniel Buzolic Cast on CW’s Supernatural Spin-Off
If you’ve been missing Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol Mikaelson) gracing your TV on a weekly basis on The Vampire Diaries, join the club. Ever since the Aussie actor bit the dust for good at the end of Season 4, we’ve been crossing our fingers and hoping that we’d get to see Nate again soon — and it looks like The CW is in the business of making wishes come true.
According to TVLine, Nate has been cast on the network’s Supernatural spin-off, Supernatural: Tribes. He’ll be playing David Hayden, who the site describes as “a shapeshifter from one of the ruling monster families who’s been living as a human, having given up the monster life years ago.” Hmm, sounds like he’s from a supernatural family similar to the Mikaelsons!
Lucien Laviscount — who has appeared on Skins — will star alongside Nate as Ennis Roth, a police academy trainee who has been scorned by supernatural creatures (his fiancée is killed in the monster warfare), leaving him no option but to become a monster-hunter.
Both Nate and Lucien will appear in Season 9, Episode 20 of Supernatural on April 29, as the episode will be the spin-off’s pilot. Sounds an awful lot like how The Originals kicked off, doesn’t it? If this spin-off is anywhere as successful as the Vampire Diaries spin-off, we’ll be seeing a lot of Nate.
