Khloe Kardashian Criticized for Wearing Native American Headdress — Fair or Not?
No one is denying that Khloe Kardashian typically has impeccable fashion taste. However, some of her fans are questioning one particular accessory choice that she made over the weekend.
Khloe took to Instagram on June 21 to share photos of herself at a Coachella-type outdoor festival that she referred to as Kidchella. Some photos of Khloe feature her wearing a traditional Native American headdress.
"Ray of clouds. Chirping of birds. Gurgling of water. Granting desire. One with water. #Kidchella my first Coachella!!!" Khloe captions a pic (at left) of herself wearing the headdress while seated next to a small teepee with her legs folded. Kylie Jenner was also at the event and posted a pic (above) of herself with Khloe.
Several of Khloe's fans were quick to criticize her for appearing to make light of the Native American people with the photos. "Shame on khloe," wrote one fan. Another asked, "Are you trying to mock Native Americans?"
Khloe has yet to respond to the criticism. However, Pharrell Williams found himself in similar hot water last month after wearing a headdress on the cover of Elle, and Pharrell apologized for the fashion choice.
Do you think Khloe was wrong to wear the headdress?
