Are Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer, and Kristin Chenoweth Headed to Peter Pan Live?
NBC’s Peter Pan Live! is slated to air on December 4, and while that may seem like a long time off, when you consider all of the rehearsals ahead, it’s actually not that far away. So far only three roles have been announced — Girls star Allison Williams as Peter Pan, Christopher Walken as Captain Hook, and ChristianBoyle as Smee/Father Darling — so E! Onlineasked for your votes on who you want to see onscreen! Not surprisingly, several Glee stars and guest stars were amongst the site’s dream contenders.
Naya Rivera (Santana) is listed as one of the Tiger Lily hopefuls alongside recording artists Rihanna and Ariana Grande, and actresses/singers Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens. Although this is just a wish list, we’re happy to report Naya has taken the lead by a wide margin, grabbing more than 43 percent of the vote so far.
For the coveted role of Tinkerbell, E! suggested not one, not two, but threeGlee actresses. Kristin Chenoweth (April Rhodes), Kate Hudson (Cassandra July), and Dianna Agron (Quinn) all made the cut, but we think Kristin’s killer voice, small stature, and current pixie haircut make her a lock for Tink. We seem to be in the majority too, since Cheno currently has 45 percent of the vote — much more than any of the other ladies. Plus, rumors of Di joining PPL have already been quashed.
Kristin’s name was also thrown into the mix for the role of family matriarch, Mrs. Darling, but her Glee/Wicked co-star and friend Idina Menzel (Shelby Corcoran) is pulling ahead with an impressive 53 percent of votes.
While it may seem like the Glee gals are getting all the love in this hypothetical casting showdown, several fellas from the FOX dramedy also got a nod. For starters, Chris Colfer (Kurt) was suggested as a possibility for Nana, the family dog. He’s holding his own against the other choices — Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux), Hugh Jackman, and Sacha Baron Cohen — but Hugh is currently in the lead because, well,Wolverine.
Last but not least, Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James) is listed as a possibility for the role of John. He’s currently beating out other contenders like Hunter Parrish and Eddie Redmayne with more than 38 percent of the vote.
We personally think all of these Glee stars and guest stars would be great additions to the Peter Pan Live! cast and while E!’s readers seem to mostly agree, we’ll have to wait and see what the producers decide.
