Naya Rivera’s Transformation: She’s Changed So Much Since Season 1!

It’s only been a little over four years since Naya Rivera (Santana) and Glee first became a major part of our lives, and we can’t believe how time flies by! We can remember every episode of our favorite Fox show, but sometimes we forget about the changes our favorite characters — and actors — have gone through over the years. Take Naya, for example.

In 2009, Santana was a rough, smart-mouthed cheerleader with no loyalties and a bad reputation for sleeping with everyone from Puck to Finn. Now, in Season 5, she’s a fully out lesbian, living in New York with Rachel and Kurt, dating Demi Lovato’s Dani, and doing commercials for yeast infection cream. Dreams, you guys, they do come true!

And Naya has gone through a similar transformation to her on-screen character. She always had an enviable body, sweet dance moves, and a killer voice. Now, she’s more toned than ever, as she showed off in a recent Terry Richardson photoshoot with fiancé Big Sean. Oh yeah, and that. She’s engaged! On October 3, Naya confirmed that she and the rapper were getting hitched, and we couldn’t be more excited for her.

Besides her bod and her love life, she’s also become a major fashionista. Long gone are the too trendy tees and off-brand boots. Now, she rocks sleek looks with tons of leather, on-trend crop tops, and body con suits and dresses. They’re not always winners, but we’re big fans of her risk-taking red carpet style.

Musically, we were stoked to hear in 2011 that Naya was recording her first solo album, but bummed that things aren’t exactly progressing as fast as we want. But maybe a new opportunity is on the horizon? Naya told reporters recently that once Glee wraps after Season 6, she’d love to get a Santana spin-off!

Amazing how much has changed since 2009, dontcha think?
