NBC Greenlights Katherine Heigl’s Spy Pilot, State of Affairs

Dying to hear details about Katherine Heigl’s NBC pilot? So have we — especially since the former Grey’s Anatomy star has stayed pretty mum since the announcement of her return to television was made in early August. The most info Katherine’s given us has been confirmation that the show is happening and that it’s still in the early stages, but we finally have good news for you: the series is officially a go!

According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC gave Katherine’s pilot, State of Affairs, the green light — which means the cast will film a pilot episode that will determine whether or not the network wants to see more from them. If you’re looking forward to seeing Katherine on screen again (even though she won’t be wearing scrubs this time) keep your fingers crossed!

We already know that, in her new show, Katherine plays a CIA analyst who’s consumed with both the security issues surrounding the president and her personal life — not unlike the way Izzie Stevens (often unsuccessfully) juggled being a surgeon while dating and baking lots and lots of muffins.

We’re assuming we won’t see the first of Katherine’s show until the fall, but we promise to keep you updated with any info we find out along the way!

Excited for Katherine’s new show? Sound off below!
