Larry Miller has signed on to play Ed Slater, Jimmy Palmer's (Brian Dietzen) future father-in-law!

Showrunner Gary Glasberg dished to Entertainment Weekly, "Jimmy Palmer is engaged. And with fiancée Breena comes spending the holidays with his future in-laws. We needed a curmudgeon with a sharp tongue and even sharper wit so we were thrilled when gifted actor/comedian Larry Miller expressed a desire to play Ed Slater. The holidays wouldn’t be complete without some family tension and fans are certainly going to get some. They may even see a side of Jimmy dealing with Ed they never expected.”

Miller will add a dash of hilarity to the show's Christmas episode, airing in December.
